Ladenburg invites you

You don't know Ladenburg yet, the town with the striking church towers between Mannheim and Heidelberg? Then you should definitely get to know the city with its unique atmosphere better. It is worth it! In Ladenburg, history and modernity, city and urban environment, as well as a much-sungabout river, the Neckar, harmoniously combine to form a unit.

In Ladenburg you experience living history, you experience the triad of city - country - river. You look at excavations, in archaeological windows, at houses from the Middle Ages, enjoy the open landscape on the nearby Neckar and experience art and culture. And in contrast to the large metropolises of Europe, you can reach everything on foot in Ladenburg.

The city of Ladenburg looks back on more than 1900 years of city history - no other German city on the right bank of the Rhine is older. Emperor Trajan granted city rights to a settlement called Lopodunum in AD 98. On a tour you can still discover many traces of an eventful history. What has remained is an almost completely preserved town center with cozy alleys, corners and squares, the remains of the medieval town wall with the witch tower and Martin's Gate. There are also lovingly restored half-timbered houses and noble houses from the 15th to 18th centuries.

Art and culture are very important in Ladenburg. On the way through the city you will find, for example, kinetic objects by a Ladenburg artist as well as numerous sculptures. A varied cultural program completes the offer: author readings, baroque concerts, modern music events and traditional folk festivals. The historic Lobdengau Museum (archeology - folk culture - town history) and the Automuseum Dr. Carl Benz (in the old Benz factory) complete your impressions of our city.

Visit us and enjoy the unmistakable atmosphere of the old and yet so lively city. We look forward to you!
